Rocked & Stoned Rolls Forward - 12/25/2007

I must say, it is pretty amazing what these Legion guys are doing these days. They all have so much going on in their personal lives with children on the way, houses being built and it all gets compounded with the holiday madness! Yet, they somehow continue to produce one film after the next and well….here they go again!

Since principal photography wrapped on the set of “Electric Storm” in November, the Legion team has been steadily preparing for the second episode of their new feature film, The Last Day. The episode is called “Rocked & Stoned” and is set to roll cameras on January 20th. “Rocked & Stoned” follows the story of Harry (played by John Sheppard) who is a kind-hearted fellow that rushes into a diner carrying his injured wife named Kate (played by Alison Flannery). Inside what appears to be a cozy and friendly little establishment, Harry meets an odd assortment of characters, most notably Dorothy (played by Jeannine Corbin) who is the diner’s caretaker and has some “intriguing” things to say to Harry. The plot unfolds through Dorothy and Harry with some hints from other characters caught up in the mix including Robert, the crazed soothsayer, (played by Albert Glassman) and Betty, a rather disinterested waitress, (played by Wendy Olafson).

The story is certainly puzzling and uneasy until you reach the stunning conclusion, but one thing is for certain, the Legion folks are so focused on capturing the right atmosphere for the film that you may have a panic attack the next time you walk into a diner! The Legion team seems to enjoy producing these eerie films and The Last Day is creating that mysterious aurora that is prominent in the genre of science fiction, especially that of The Twilight Zone.

Piles Of Audition Tapes - 08/07/2007

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since Legion closed the doors at their last audition held at Tripeg Studios and the producers still have not finished reviewing all of the audition tapes!! President, Aaron Vnuk shook his head when asked about the process, "Two things are slowing us down: the number of individuals who showed up and who continue to submit to our casting department and the high quality of talent who auditioned for us. We are finding that we often have to review a single tape many times before we can make a decision on whether that actor has a chance to be cast in our film. Very few decisions are cut and dry, which is unusual."

The producers are expected to make their first round of cast selections by the end of September. Producer, Michael O'Connor commented, "The audition was a huge event and the people turned out. It's nice to know that so many talented people want to be in our films. When we first started in 2000, we couldn't get our family members to act for us. It's been a long and successful journey for our company."

Further updates on the progression of Legion's next feature film will be posted on this page.

MALE SCRIPT: SCENARIO 1

BORIS SIMPSON is a “dreamer,” a person who believes in the fantastic side of things, a fellow who thinks he is smarter than the rest of the world. He is a bit over dramatic and excitable when he feels the need to express his viewpoints.

In this scene he is speaking to ANNE, a woman around the age of 25 who he met at a coffee shop. She expresses her disinterest by ignoring him and reading a newspaper.

BORIS
What do you mean you don’t care? The world is coming to a complete and catastrophic end and all you have to offer is a shrug of your shoulders? Come on Anne, you can do better than that? This is it! The real deal! How could you possibly not care?

He studies her for a moment and frowns.

BORIS (CONT’D)
Okay, Anne, I suppose we are all entitled to our own reactions, but I’ll tell you one thing I know for sure...burying your face in that damn newspaper isn’t going to solve anything! You think they would print something useful in that? A story of this magnitude? They wouldn’t have the balls! And you know why? Because all of those pimple-faced newspaper boys who deliver this garbage to your doorstep would cry like little babies if they read the headline, “At Any Given Moment This World Will End. We Are All Screwed!”

He paces about and stares at her with a furious expression.

BORIS (CONT’D)
And you know what, Anne? It’s people like you who just sit on their asses and pretend that everything is just nice and fine who should be the first to go when it really happens. So you just sit there and sip your coffee. I’ll see you tomorrow...that is, if we are still exist!

MALE SCRIPT: SCENARIO 2

JARED TROUTMAN is a twisted man, the cold and calculating sort. The type you would not want to be alone with. He is not intimidating by his physical stature, but by what’s inside his heart and soul, a man who is rotten at the core.

He speaks to the blonde and blue-eyed, GINGER.

JARED
Relax honey. You have to trust me. The more we can work together and get on the same page, the more comfortable you will be. My only intent is to simply share some things about myself with you, but what is far more important is that you feel them too. What more can a man ask for than an audience to listen to his story and feel his true...agony.

He smiles at her.

JARED (CONT’D)
When I was a boy, my father would beat me for no apparent reason, I was at his mercy and the pain would come whenever it would fancy him best. Now, you my dear Ginger, may have underwent such infliction in your own life, but I promise you,,,nothing at all like what I felt. You see, there are many thresholds of pain that exist in the human body and they range from the mild prick to the most excruciating of torment. But there is one other that few people have experienced. One that exists beyond the realm of human conception. It is a pain you will never forget no matter how many times you experience it.

He walks closer to her with a devilish grin.

JARED (CONT’D)
Now my lovely, Ginger, what you are about to find is that I am the world’s foremost expert....in taking people there.

FEMALE SCRIPT - SCENARIO 1

JULIE HAYES is tired of not being listened to by the men in her life. She doesn’t feel appreciated as a female in society and has a quick boiling point when she is frustrated,

In this scene she speaks to BEN, who sits on the couch watching a sports event.

JULIE
Please don’t tell me that’s what you plan on doing all day. It’s like we go through this every weekend. You like your sports and I don’t, so you see, there really isn’t much of a compromise there.

Her eyes suddenly widen.

JULIE (CONT’D)
On my God! You’re eating the chips! I bought those for my boss who in case you forgot is coming over for lunch tomorrow to talk about my next raise! Now, that’s just one more thing I have to do...run to the grocery store!

She shakes her head and scowls.

JULIE (CONT’D)
What a beautiful site this is. You know what, Ben? You look like a fool pretending you don’t hear me and just sitting there stuffing your face with chips. I should take a picture of this and post it all over the Internet. And you know what else, Ben? I wouldn’t feel sorry for you in the least, because it’s all your fault. You never listen to me! You know how busy I am and you do nothing to make my life any easier!

She takes a step away and then spins back around.

JULIE (CONT’D)
Oh and one more thing. I’m inviting my girlfriends over for a little tea party and we’re going to need this room to sit and talk about...men!

FEMALE SCRIPT - SCENARIO 2

PAULA THOMPSON is a meek and anxious person. She believes that horrible things can happen at any moment. She feels that she is being stalked by a serial killer at every moment of her life.

In this scene, she is at home and hears a banging noise in the room down the hall. MISSY is her cat.

PAULA
Who’s there? Missy...please tell me that’s you. Please, you know I don’t like it when you go off making noises in the house. Missy?

She hears another bang and it startles her.

PAULA (CONT’D)
No...I think I forgot to lock the door. Missy, wherever you are. I need you here now. Please come to me. I need you. I can’t believe I did this...how could I be so stupid. He’s in the house, I know he is and he hurt you didn’t he Missy?

She looks around with wild eyes.

PAULA (CONT’D)
I don’t know what to do. Someone please tell me what to do. The phone is in the other room, I can’t get to the door. I can’t get out.

Another noise frightens her.

PAULA (CONT’D)
Please don’t hurt me. Why can’t you leave me alone? I never did anything to you. What do you want from me!

She trembles and becomes frantic.

PAULA (CONT’D)
Get out of my house! I can’t take this anymore! You’re always there! Why did you hurt Missy? Stop bothering us!

MULTIPLE DIALOGUE SCENE

TWO ACTORS are discussing a tense scenario.

ACTOR 1
The next time you decide to go poking around in someone’s basement, remember to give me a head’s up!

ACTOR 2
How was I supposed to know what he was doing? I just thought he was some creepy old guy!

ACTOR 1
And now we’re stuck in a load of you know what!

ACTOR 2
What do you think we should do? I know he saw us.

ACTOR 1
No kidding and we obviously can’t tell the police because of all of your warrants. We mine as well just let him have his way with us!

Actor 2 becomes upset and shaken.

ACTOR 2
I’m sorry, I just...I didn’t think this would happen. It’s all just crashing down on me now.

Actor 1 recognizes his pain and softens.

ACTOR 1
Relax, we’ll figure something out. There has to be some way to protect ourselves without getting anyone else involved.

ACTOR 2
Like what?

ACTOR 1
I don’t know. I need some time to think about it.

ACTOR 2
But what if that’s not an option?
